The opening of the Huddleston swimming bath in Orlando, was a great moment for the father because he had struggled so hard to get it for the non-Europeans. Fifteen miles south-west of Johannesburg sprawls Orlando Township, the biggest location in Africa. Its population of around 100 000, is roughly 3 times the white population of Kenya.ddly named after City councillor Orlando Leake, it is supposed to be a "model location" though it has no electric light, water sanitation, and no swimming bath.
